ABOUT MAPEDITION
Editorial perspective.
Places brought to life.
MapEdition brings together systems experience and editorial judgment to turn a collection of places into a branded interactive map people can explore.
A useful guide begins with a point of view.
Our starting point was Charleston: the restaurants, gardens, shops, cultural institutions, and gathering places that make a city worth knowing. We wanted to make those discoveries easier to explore, with the writing, photos, locations, and helpful links connected in one place.
That same idea is at the heart of MapEdition. A good map helps readers understand the places behind a story, guests explore a hotel's neighborhood, and buyers see the setting around a home. Your selection and perspective give the map its meaning.

SYSTEMS & MAP EXPERIENCE
Tim Waldron
Tim brings more than 30 years of enterprise systems and automation experience, along with more than a decade of hands-on Charleston vacation-rental operations.
He created Charleston 1857 to help guests and neighbors discover the places that reward a little curiosity, from a quiet garden to a great dinner or an afternoon on the water.
At MapEdition, his focus is making the content, map, and interactions work together in a clear, dependable experience on desktop and phone.

Your places. Your perspective.
You choose the places and provide the editorial point of view. MapEdition designs and builds the connected map, hosts it, and works with your developer to integrate it into your website or publish a dedicated page.
We shape the experience around your content and brand, with readable entries, useful links, and layouts suited to both desktop and phone.
